The HerStories Project is a writing and publishing community for women. Our goal is to have a meaningful conversation about what it means to be a female writer at midlife, and to create a space for expression, sharing, celebrating women’s voices, and supporting each other during a complicated stage of life. https://www.herstoriesproject.com/

She is the Executive Producer of Listen To Your Mother Boulder, a live storytelling show featuring local writers’ original compositions about motherhood. She co-hosts The Mother Plus podcast and teaches early childhood music classes and voice lessons for adolescent girls. Stephanie lives in Colorado with her husband, tween and teen daughters, and two rescue dogs. https://stephaniesprenger.com/

Writing is a solitary endeavor, but we don’t need to do it alone. Sometimes our inspiration comes in solitude, sometimes in community. The Writers Salon provides an effective, useful, and fun combination of these sometimes conflicting parts of our writing practice. Our Early October 2022 Writers Salon event takes place at the Whitehawk Ranch (https://lodgeatwhitehawk.com) and provides a combination of those two experiences. Payment includes lodging, breakfast and dinner, and daily Salon Sessions. The days are yours for contemplation, research, gathering with your fellow participants, nature walks, and, of course writing. Late each afternoon we gather for the Salon: a craft talk, Q&A, and discussion, followed by dinner, during which there’s lively conversation, and opportunities to share work in progress. 60-minute private one-on-one session with Jessica or Stephanie is included with a 5-night stay. Submit up to 1,500 words in advance, or during the WIR event (48 hour turn around), and meet with Stephanie or Jessica to discuss your project and writing. Limited to eight participants per session to ensure an intimate Salon environment, this WIR event is anchored at a private home for Salon Sessions and dinner in Whitehawk Ranch. Lodging/breakfast provided at the Whitehawk Lodge or private home in Clio, CA.* Full session commitment is preferable, but shorter stays (four-night minimum) are welcome.
